The Xi Lambda Educational Foundation, a non-profit organization, was established to enhance the educational options of disadvantaged children and adults.

The primary mission of our Foundation is to provide underprivileged elementary and high school aged children with educational opportunities that go beyond public education’s traditional parameters and boundaries.

The Foundation also attempts to enhance the educational, vocational and technological options of adults through existing literacy programs.

Corporate Status

The Xi Lambda Educational Foundation is an Illinois charitable corporation. Required reports are filed annually with the Internal Revenue Service, the Secretary of State, and the Office of the Attorney General. Additional data on this foundation may be accessed on websites such as give.org, guidestar.org and apaxl.org. The Foundation is in good standing with all regulatory and reporting agencies.

Tax Status

The Xi Lambda Educational Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation. As such, contributions to the Foundation are generally tax deductible for IRS reporting purposes. The Foundation is exempt from Illinois state sales tax.


Fiscal Year

In 2003, our fiscal year was changed to July 1st through June 30th. This allows a closer overlay between the academic calendar and the Foundation’s fund-raising cycle.

Meeting Schedule

The Board of Directors of the Xi Lambda Educational Foundation meets at 6:00 pm on the third Wednesday of each month (except during July and August).
